Libobasquet Round 18: Derby game ends with Saracho's defeat of Carl A-Z

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Oruro: Saracho (#8) and Carl A-Z (#5). Saracho (6-8) won against visiting Carl A-Z (7-7) 79-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Carl A-Z. It was a good game for Argentinian point guard Alejo Traverso (179-1998) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Alejandro Vedia (-1997) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Saracho's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian center Diego Romero (206-1982, college: FSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists for Carl A-Z. Saracho maintains eighth position with 6-8 record. Carl A-Z at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Calero.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked San Simon (8-6) against seventh ranked Calero (7-7) on Saturday night. Visiting San Simon was defeated by Calero in a tough game in Potosi 71-76. Argentinian power forward Juan Cruz Oberto (200-1997) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Trey Jones chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Argentinian Rolando Vallejos (195-2000) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds. Calero moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Carl A-Z. San Simon at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Univ.Sucre.
