The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Orca (0-1) in Oruro on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Carl A-Z (2-0) 104-40. Carl A-Z held Orca to an opponent 22.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Carl A-Z forced 48 Orca turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Orca's players. It was a great evening for the former international guard Nicole Rojas (166-1994) who led her team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Gabriela Herbas (181-2002) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. The best for the losing side was Katherine Hinojosa with 6 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Carl A-Z will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Orca will play against Club de Tenis (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory. Very important is a home loss of Uriona (2-1) against Univ. San Simon (1-1) on Sunday night. Host Uriona was crushed by Univ. San Simon in 100-53. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Marcela Viscarra (169-1990) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 23 rebounds and 6 assists. Erika Tapia accounted for 23 points. Betcy Campos came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for Uriona in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Univ.
