Washington's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

29-year old American guard Haylen Washington (196-G-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for Club Universitario de Sucre and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
He had a double-double of 40 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat La Paz (#10, 0-7), the league's bottom-ranked team 91-85. Univ.Sucre is placed at 5th position in Bolivian league. Univ.Sucre is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-4 record. In the team's last game Washington had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Univ.Sucre's top player in his first season with the team. College of Coastal Georgia graduate has very impressive stats this year. Washington is in league's top in points (9th best: 19.6ppg), rebounds (8th best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 50.7% FGP. Worth to mention Washington played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Diego Romero (206-C-1982) of CA Ramallo Lafuente A-Z Oruro. He is Argentinian center in his first season at Carl A-Z. In the last game Romero recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds. Of course he led Carl A-Z to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Kinwa (#8, 2-5) 103-83. Carl A-Z's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Romero is a newcomer at Carl A-Z and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center David Greer (213-C) of Baquetbol La Paz (#10). Greer scored 27 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). Despite Greer's great performance the La Paz lost 85-91 to the higher-ranked Univ.Sucre (#5, 3-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. La Paz can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 7 games. Greer has individually a great season in Bolivia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.4rpg (4th best).
