Jordan Cardenas claims Bolivian Libobasquet weekly honour

Ecuadorian Jordan Cardenas (206-C-1998, agency: BIG) put on an amazing game in the last round for Tarija Basquet and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 25-year old center had a double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds, while his team edged out Leones (#4, 7-4) 93-92. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Tarija Basquet maintains the 3rd position in Bolivian Libobasquet. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tarija Basquet will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. Cardenas just recently signed at Tarija Basquet and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Jordan Cardenas averages just after two games 17.0ppg and 14.0rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was American Omarayon Turner (196-SF) of Club Universitario de Sucre. Turner impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Univ.Sucre lost that game 78-88 to slightly higher-ranked CAN Oruro (#5, 6-6). This loss caused Univ.Sucre to drop to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-6 record. Turner is one of the most experienced players at Univ.Sucre and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.9ppg (#4). He also registered 10.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Argentinian Gonzalo Romero (196-F-1997) of Club Atletico Nacional Oruro (#5). Romero showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of CAN Oruro, leading his team to a 88-78 win against slightly lower-ranked Univ.Sucre (#6, 5-6). CAN Oruro needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 6 lost games. Romero has a great season in Bolivia. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.0rpg (4th best) and assists with 4.2apg (3rd best).
