Romero's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

26-year old Argentinian forward Gonzalo Romero (196-F-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Club Atletico Nacional Oruro and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had a double-double of 17 points and 19 rebounds, while his team outclassed Saracho (#8, 4-11) with 38-point margin 115-77. CAN Oruro maintains the 5th position in Bolivian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. CAN Oruro will need more victories to improve their 8-6 record. Romero just recently signed at CAN Oruro, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Romero has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 11.8rpg), assists (4th best: 4.3apg) and averages solid 62.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Omarayon Turner (196-SF) of Club Universitario de Sucre. He is American in his first season at Univ.Sucre. In the last game Turner recorded an impressive double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Univ.Sucre lost that game 98-104 to slightly lower-ranked Saracho (#8, 4-11). Univ.Sucre managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-8 record. Turner is one of the most experienced players at Univ.Sucre and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.9ppg (#3). He also registered 10.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Univ.Sucre's star - guard Haylen Washington (196-G-1994). Washington got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds . Despite Washington's great performance the Club Universitario de Sucre lost 98-104 to slightly lower-ranked Saracho (#8, 4-11). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The chances of Univ.Sucre not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Washington could try to bring Univ.Sucre's a little bit higher in the standings. Washington has individually a great season in Bolivia. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.2rpg (7th best). Washington attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
