Wilfredo Alvarez claims Bolivian Libobasquet weekly honour

Argentinian Wilfredo Alvarez had a very impressive game in the last round for Club Atletico Nacional Oruro and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The had a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds, while his team outclassed CAN Potosi (#1, 14-1) with 28-point margin 81-53. CAN Oruro maintains the 5th position in Bolivian Libobasquet. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. CAN Oruro will need more victories to improve their 9-7 record. In the team's last game Alvarez had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at CAN Oruro, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Wilfredo Alvarez averages this season 17.5ppg and 6.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another CAN Oruro's star - young Argentinian forward Gonzalo Romero (196-F-1997). Romero impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Club Atletico Nacional Oruro lost that game 73-80 to slightly higher-ranked Tarija Basquet (#3, 12-4). CAN Oruro managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 9-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Romero is one of the most experienced players at CAN Oruro and similarly like Wilfredo Alvarez has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Argentinian Alvaro Caraffa (199-PF-2000, agency: BIG) of Club Deportivo y Cultural Saracho (#8). Caraffa scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Caraffa's great performance the Saracho lost 83-101 to the higher-ranked Pichincha (#2, 12-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Saracho can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Caraffa he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Caraffa has individually a great season in Bolivia. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.1rpg (7th best).

10. Adriano Barreras (186-G-1989) of CAN Potosi - 24 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
