Cardenas' double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

26-year old Ecuadorian center Jordan Cardenas (206-C-1998, agency: BIG) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Tarija Basquet and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Pichincha (#3, 12-5) 85-77. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Tarija Basquet is placed at 2nd position in Bolivian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tarija Basquet will need more victories to improve their 13-4 record. Cardenas has many years of experience at Tarija Basquet, through which he has constantly improved. Jordan Cardenas averages this season 18.4ppg and 12.1rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Roberto Orresta (177-PG-1991) of CA Ramallo Lafuente A-Z Oruro. He is Argentinian guard in his first (recently joined) season at Carl A-Z. In the last game Orresta recorded an impressive 27 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Carl A-Z lost that game 83-93 to the higher-ranked CAN Potosi (#1, 15-1). Carl A-Z managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-10 record. Orresta is one of the most experienced players at Carl A-Z and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Haylen Washington (196-G-1994) of Club Universitario de Sucre (#6). Washington showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Univ.Sucre, leading his team to a 91-60 easy win against the lower-ranked La Paz (#10, 1-15). Univ.Sucre needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 8 lost games. Washington has a great season in Bolivia. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.6ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 9.1rpg (8th best). Washington attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
