Bolivian Libobasquet round 17 best performance: Wilfredo Alvarez

Argentinian Wilfredo Alvarez put on an amazing game in the last round for Club Atletico Nacional Oruro, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The player had a double-double of 18 points and 17 rebounds, while his team edged out Pichincha (#3, 12-6) 77-75. CAN Oruro maintains the 5th position in Bolivian Libobasquet. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. CAN Oruro will need more victories to improve their 10-8 record. In the team's last game Alvarez had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at CAN Oruro, through which he has constantly improved. Wilfredo Alvarez averages this season 17.6ppg and 7.5rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was American Jonathan Greenfield (190-G/F) of Baquetbol La Paz. Greenfield had a very good evening with a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as La Paz lost that game 65-125 to slightly higher-ranked Saracho (#9, 5-13). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. La Paz is still at the dead bottom 10th position. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory La Paz managed to get this year. Greenfield is one of the most experienced players at La Paz and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.0ppg (#1). He also registered 7.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Cuban guard Daniel Simon (185-G-1996) of Club Deportivo y Cultural Saracho (#9). Simon scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). Despite Simon's great performance the Saracho lost 72-85 to Kinwa (5-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Saracho can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Simon has individually a great season in Bolivia. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (5th best).
