Strangely CAN Potosi outrebounded Leones 44-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The former international point guard Ronald Arze (175-1993) fired 7 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Argentinian power forward Juan Cruz Oberto (200-1997) chipped in 18 points. Cuban guard Adriano Barreras (186-1989) produced 32 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian power forward Milos Petkovic (204-1991) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. CAN Potosi's coach David Pardo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Tarija Basquet - Pichincha 82-76

Tarija Basquet outrebounded Pichincha 67-48 including 22 on the offensive glass. Pichincha was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jamar Sandifer (193-1997, college: SWOSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Ecuadorian center Jordan Cardenas (206-1998, college: FNU, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Celmar Alanes (180-1997) answered with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Andres Trujillo (184-1999) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Pichincha. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pichincha's coach Federico Martellini tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
