Rene Calvo claims Bolivian Libobasquet weekly honour

Experienced International Swingman Rene Calvo (193-F/G-1993) had a great game in the last round for Club Universitario de Sucre and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 31-year old swingman had a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out Calero (#7, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 95-92. Univ.Sucre maintains the 3rd position in Bolivian Libobasquet. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Univ.Sucre will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Calvo had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Univ.Sucre, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Calvo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 20.3ppg), assists (4th best: 5.5apg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 55.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Univ.Sucre's star - young American guard Haylen Washington (196-G-1994). Washington impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds. It was enough for Club Universitario de Sucre to edge Calero (#7, 0-4) by 3 points 95-92. Univ.Sucre's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 3-1 record is not bad at all. Washington is one of the most experienced players at Univ.Sucre and similarly like Rene Calvo has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.8ppg (#2). He also registered 11.8 boards per game. College of Coastal Georgia alumni Washington played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was Cuban Daniel Simon (185-G-1996) of CA Ramallo Lafuente A-Z Oruro (#6). Simon scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Carl A-Z, leading his team to a 87-75 win against CAN Oruro (#8, 0-4). The chances of Carl A-Z ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Simon could help Carl A-Z to bring them higher in the standings. Simon has a great season in Bolivia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.8rpg (4th best).

10. Matias Arias (202-F-1994) of Calero - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
