Calvo's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

31-year old swingman Rene Calvo (193-F/G-1993) had a very impressive game in the last round for Club Universitario de Sucre and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Leones (#3, 4-2) 78-84. Univ.Sucre moved-up to the 6th position in Bolivian league. Univ.Sucre is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 3rd lost game this season out of 6 games. In the team's last game Calvo had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Univ.Sucre, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Calvo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.0ppg), assists (4th best: 5.0apg) and averages solid 1.2bpg and 59.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Esteban Covarrubias (190-F-2001) of CD Calero de Potosi. He is a forward in his first season at Calero. Calero's 7th position in the standings has not changed. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Calero managed to get this year. Covarrubias is one of the most experienced players at Calero and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.7ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 7.7rpg and 3.3apg.

Third place about best performers goes to Jesus Virhuez of CA Ramallo Lafuente A-Z Oruro (#5). Virhuez scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Carl A-Z, leading his team to a 94-89 win against the higher-ranked Kinwa (#1, 5-1). Carl A-Z needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Virhuez has a great season in Bolivia. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.2rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.5bpg and a FGP of 57.7%.
