Mauro Zubiaurre claims Bolivian Libobasquet weekly honour

Experienced Uruguayan Mauro Zubiaurre (189-PG-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for Club Leones Potosi Basquetbol and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 30-year old playmaker had a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out CAN Oruro (#8, 0-8), the league's bottom-ranked team 95-91. Leones maintains the 3rd position in Bolivian Libobasquet. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Leones will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Zubiaurre just recently signed at Leones, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Zubiaurre has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.0ppg), rebounds (8th best: 8.3rpg), assists (7th best: 4.8apg) and averages solid 1.3bpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Haylen Washington (196-G-1994) of Club Universitario de Sucre. Washington impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds. It was enough for Univ.Sucre to edge slightly lower-ranked Carl A-Z (#6, 3-5) by 6 points 87-81. This victory allowed Univ.Sucre to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Washington is one of the most experienced players at Univ.Sucre and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.1ppg (#5). He also registered 12.0 boards per game. College of Coastal Georgia alumni Washington played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was Cristhian Delgado (184-G-1993) of Club Atletico Nacional Oruro (#8). Delgado showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Delgado's great performance the CAN Oruro lost 83-88 to the higher-ranked Kinwa (#2, 7-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. CAN Oruro can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 8 games. Too bad for Delgado he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Delgado has a very solid season. In 8 games in Bolivia he scored 10.3ppg. He also has 7.3rpg and a FGP of 73.1%.
