Petkovic's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

34-year old Serbian power forward Milos Petkovic (204-F/C-1991) had a great game in the last round for CDyC Pichincha de Potosi and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had a double-double of 45 points and 18 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team CAN Oruro (#8, 0-9) with 21-point margin 102-81. Pichincha is placed at 4th position in Bolivian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Pichincha will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. Petkovic has many years of experience at Pichincha, through which he has constantly improved. Petkovic has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.8ppg) and averages solid 62.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Mauro Zubiaurre (189-PG-1994) of Club Leones Potosi Basquetbol. He is Uruguayan guard in his first season at Leones. In the last game Zubiaurre recorded an impressive double-double of 44 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Leones cruised to a 90-83 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Carl A-Z (#6, 3-6). Despite this victory Leones slide down in the standings to 3rd position. His team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Zubiaurre is one of the most experienced players at Leones and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.1ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 8.7rpg and 4.1apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Sergio Herbas (PG-2003, agency: Gulf Coast Hoops) of Club Atletico Nacional Oruro (#8). Herbas got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. Despite Herbas' great performance the CAN Oruro lost 81-102 to the higher-ranked Pichincha (#4, 5-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. CAN Oruro can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 9 games. Too bad for Herbas he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Herbas has individually a great season in Bolivia. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.6ppg (best scorer) and assists with 4.6apg (7th best). He also has a FGP of 59.0% and 3PT: 41.3%.
