Bolivian Libobasquet round 13 best performance: Rene Calvo

International Swingman Rene Calvo (193-F/G-1993) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Club Universitario de Sucre, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Carl A-Z (#6, 5-9) 82-78. Univ.Sucre maintains the 3rd position in Bolivian Libobasquet. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Univ.Sucre will need more victories to improve their 9-5 record. Calvo has many years of experience at Univ.Sucre, through which he has constantly improved. Rene Calvo has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.2ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.1apg) and averages impressive 50.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international point guard Celmar Alanes (180-PG-1997) of CDyC Pichincha de Potosi. Alanes had a very good evening with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Pichincha was edged by slightly lower-ranked Calero (#7, 4-10) 85-81. Pichincha managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-8 record. Alanes is one of the most experienced players at Pichincha and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Pichincha's star - Serbian forward Milos Petkovic (204-F/C-1991). Petkovic scored 18 points. Despite Petkovic's great performance the CDyC Pichincha de Potosi lost 81-85 to slightly lower-ranked Calero (#7, 4-10). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The chances of Pichincha ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Petkovic could help Pichincha to bring them higher in the standings. Petkovic has a great season in Bolivia. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.6ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 11.9rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.4bpg and a FGP of 59.5%.
