Botafogo celebrated Liga Ouro title. They outgunned Joinville in the decisive fifth game of the championship series. Jamaal Smith (175-PG-85, college: N.Mexico) came up with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to pace the champions. Roberto Ferreira (196-F/C-79, college: SUNO) contributed 14 points and 7 rebounds for Botafogo. Wesley Russell (193-G-93, college: Ohio Christian) accounted for 10 points in the victory. Botafogo went on a 14:2 run to open the game. Joinville however picked up the tempo in the second term. They pulled within a single point at halftime 40:41. But Botafogo went on a strong rally in the second half to roll to the victory. Maxwell Dias (198-SF-91) responded with 21 points for Joinville.
