Flamengo looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Paschoalotto/Bauru's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Paschoalotto/Bauru helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Marcelo Machado (201-75, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds and was named the Finals MVP. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. Flamengo's coach Jose Neto felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. NBB World selection celebrated victory in the traditional All-Star Game in Mogi das Cruzes. Shamell Stallworth (195-SG-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) came up with a stellar performance to be named MVP. He tallied 33 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to pace the winners. NBB Brazil jumped to a 46:35 lead after the first period. But NBB World limited their opponents to 24 points in the second period to gain a 73:70 halftime lead. NBB Brazil pulled within two points at the final intermission. However NBB World protected the lead throughout the fourth frame and rallied to the victory. Desmond Holloway (191-G-90, college: Co.Carolina) finished with 17 points, while Robert Day (198-SF-82, college: W.Oregon) and Kenny Dawkins (175-PG-87, college: Lamar) netted 14 points each for the winners. Marquinhos Vieira (207-SF-84) replied with 28 points for NBB Brazil. Larry Taylor (185-PG-80, college: Missouri Western) had 24 points in the loss.
