Sesi Franca defended their NBB title. They outgunned Sao Paulo in the decisive fifth game of the championship series to repeat as champions. The game was mostly controlled by Vivo/Franca. Sao Paulo managed to win second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. David Jackson (190-G-1982, college: Penn St.) was named MVP of the Final. Franca grabbed a 19-15 lead at the start and added a 22-17 rally in the second period. Flamengo replied with a 22-20 run in the third quarter, whilst Franca closed the campaign with a final 15-11 rally.
