Recife clinch LBF title - Apr 7, 2013

Recife claimed the LBF title. They overcame Americana in the second game of the champioship series to complete the sweep. Erika De Souza (197-C-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up with 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the winners.
The teams stayed close throughout the opening quarter. Recife grabbed a narrow 12:11 lead after ten minutes. Americana stiffened defensively in the second period. They spurred ahead for a 21:17 halftime lead. Recife came back into the game right after the big break. They kept it close and tied things up at 41 heading into the fourth frame. Recife dropped 21 points in the final period and sealed the win at the end. Adriana Pinto (170-SG-78) had 16 points, while Alex Montgomery (185-G/F-89, college: Georgia Tech) delivered 11 points for the winners. Clarissa Dos Santos (187-C-88) answered with 19 points and 11 rebounds for Americana. Karen Gustavo (177-G-84) and Karla da Costa (173-SG-78) had 8 points each in the loss.
