Americana celebrate the title - Apr 28, 2015

Americana celebrated the LBF title. They overcame UNINASSAU/America in the decisive third game of the championship series. Ariadna Felipe (179-G/F-83) scored 17 points to lead the winners. The teams stayed close throughout 40 minutes. Americana eked out a 21:18 lead after the opening quarter. America erased the deficit in the second term and gained a 40:38 halftime lead. However Americana regained the lead throughout the third term. The hosts spurred ahead for a 61:54 lead at the final intermission. America tried hard to deny the deficit in the fourth stanza but Americana held a firm grip on the lead and clinched the trophy. Damiris Do Amaral (192-C-92) had 16 points and 8 rebounds, while Clarissa Dos Santos (184-C-88) added 10 points for the winners. Clarissa Dos Santos was named the MVP. Erika De Souza (197-C-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 23 points and 18 rebounds for America. Tiffany Hayes (177-G-89, college: Connecticut) had 22 points in the loss.
