Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Brazilians who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is former international shooting guard
Vitor Benite (192-90, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He was the major contributor in
Burgos' victory against the fourth-ranked Oostende (1-4)
88-73 in the Basketball Champions League in Tuesday night's game.
Benite recorded 15 points and added 3 passes in 23 minutes on the court.
San Pablo Inmobiliaria Miraflores Burgos (4-1) is placed first in group H.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
They will play only one more game in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
Benite has relatively good stats this year: 13.0ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 42.1%, 3FGP: 39.3% and FT: 75.0% in four games he played so far.
He played for the Brazilian senior national team two years ago.
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international point guard
Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, currently plays in Spain). Huertas contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked Gran Canaria (5-15) crushing them
108-87 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Saturday.
He scored 7 points and added 5 passes.
Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (15-4) is placed fourth in the Liga Endesa.
This season Huertas has relatively solid stats: 13.1ppg, 2.0rpg, 5.8apg, 2FGP: 52.7%, 3FGP: 44.2% and FT: 86.1%.
He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Italian.
Huertas played for the Brazilian national team in 2019.
#3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international point guard
Raul Neto (185-92, currently plays in NBA). He led
Washington Wizards to an easy victory against the Phoenix Suns (7-5) crushing them
128-107 in the NBA on Monday night.
Neto scored 16 points in 25 minutes.
The Washington Wizards have rather weak 3-8 record this season.
They ended the series of three consecutive loses.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
It's Neto's first year with the team.
He has reliable stats this season: 8.9ppg, 1.3rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 61.0%(25-41), 3FGP: 42.4% and FT: 66.7% in 11 games.
Neto played for the Brazilian national team five years ago.
#4. Guard
Scott Machado (186-90, college:
Iona, currently plays in Australia) led
Cairns Taipans to a 1-point victory over the league outsider Kings (0-1)
87-86 in the Australian NBL in Saturday night's game.
He was MVP of the game. Machado recorded 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.
Cairns Taipans (1-1) are placed third in the NBL.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
Machado's stats this season are: 14.0ppg, 6.0rpg, 9.5apg and 1.5spg.
He is a naturalized American.
Machado used to play for the Brazilian national team
back in 2018. Strangely he has never played in Brazil.
#5. International point guard
Caio Pacheco (189-99, agency:
Octagon Europe, currently plays in Argentina) could not help
Bahia (3-17) in their last game. Despite Pacheco's very good performance the tenth-placed Bahia (3-17) lost
76-82 on the road to the higher-ranked (#7) Ferro in the South group.
He was the top scorer with 17 points. Pacheco also added 7 rebounds and 6 assists in 41 minutes.
The Regular Season already ended.
Pacheco is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Bahia's roster.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Pacheco averages: 17.1ppg, 5.6rpg and 6.1apg in 19 games.
He plays currently for the Brazilian national team.
#6. Small forward
Leonardo Meindl (201-93, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help
Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in their last game on Saturday. Despite Meindl's good performance Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was badly defeated
105-85 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Zaragoza (#12).
He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
It's Meindl's first season with the team.
Meindl's stats this year are: 10.4ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg.
He is a former international player as he played for the Brazilian senior team three years ago.
#7. Former international swingman
Didi Louzada (198-99, currently plays in Australia) faced previously mentioned Scott Machado in the Australian NBL last game.
Louzada was not able to secure a victory for
Kings (0-1) in their game against Cairns Taipans (1-1).
He recorded 7 points in 25 minutes. It was his first game for Kings this season.
The bottom-ranked Kings were edged
87-86 in Cairns by the higher-ranked (#3) Taipans.
Louzada's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is quite important.
Louzada used to play for the Brazilian national team
two years ago.
#8. Forward
Dimitris Sousa (198-94, college:
UVA Wise, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help
Avellino (4-3) in their last game. Despite his good performance Avellino (#3) was crushed
94-61 at home by the lower-ranked (#6) Cassino in the Group D.
Sousa was the second best scorer with 11 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 30 minutes.
Sousa averaged so far 13.9ppg and 3.0rpg in seven games.
He used to play for the Brazilian U19 national team
back in 2009.
#9. Former international small forward
Bruno Caboclo (206-95, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the
Houston Rockets (4-8) in their game against the Los Angeles Lakers (11-4) in the NBA. Caboclo cannot count Tuesday's game as one of the best ones.
He scored only 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
The Houston Rockets (4-8) were badly defeated
117-100 in Los Angeles by the Lakers.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
Caboclo's overall stats this year are: 2.8ppg and 2.3rpg.
He used to play for the Brazilian national team

#10. Forward
Kayo Goncalves (203-99, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the one of league's weakest teams
USA (2-4) in their game against the Appalachian State University (3-3) in the NCAA, despite his very good performance on Saturday night.
Goncalves recorded 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 26 minutes.
But the USA lost
77-83 in Boone to the Appalachian State University.
This year Goncalves' overall stats are: 9.8ppg and 5.6rpg in 15 games.
He is a former U17 international player as six years ago he still played for the Brazilian national team.
#11. International forward
Guilherme Santos (95, currently plays in Portugal) couldn't help
Barreirense in their game against Ovarense in the Portuguese LPB. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones.
Santos scored only 2 points in 10 minutes.
His team was crushed by 40 points
115-75.
This year Santos averages just 1.3ppg in three games.
He plays currently for the Brazilian national team.
#12. Former U17 international guard
Fernando Salsamendi (196, currently plays in NAIA) contributed to a 1-point
Ave Maria University's victory against the Southeastern University
73-72 in the TSC last Saturday.
Salsamendi scored 9 points in 23 minutes.
This year Salsamendi averages only 1.3ppg in three games.
He used to play for the Brazilian U17 national team
back in 2013.
The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams: #1. Romulo Gusmao (208-C-95, currently plays in Argentina). Gusmao could not help
Ferro (13-0) to beat Obras (18-0).
He scored 8 points, had 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks.
Ferro (#7) was crushed
92-69 in a derby game by the second-ranked Obras in the South group.
The Regular Season already ended.
It's Gusmao's first season with the team.
Gusmao's overall stats this year are: 5.0ppg and 3.9rpg.
#2. Oscar Da Silva (206-PF-98, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the one of league's weakest teams
Stanford (4-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Stanford lost
64-77 at home to the University of Colorado.
Da Silva had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 12 rebounds (made all of his six free throws) in 33 minutes.
Da Silva has been at the team for four years.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Da Silva averages: 19.3ppg, 7.3rpg and 2.3apg in 13 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: German and Brazilian.
Despite Da Silva's Brazilian passport, he previously played for the German U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.
#3. Experienced
Andre Coimbra (206-PF-86, college:
CMU, currently plays in Argentina) is a teammate of previously mentioned Romulo Gusmao and both played together in the last Argentinian La Liga game.
Coimbra was not able to secure a victory for
Ferro (13-0) in their game against Obras (18-0).
He scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 11 minutes.
Ferro (#7) was crushed
92-69 in a derby game by the second-ranked Obras in the South group.
This year Coimbra's overall stats are: 5.9ppg and 4.5rpg in 19 games.
#4. Felipe Dos Anjos (218-C-98, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help
Bilbao (4-15) in their game against Andorra (8-9) in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
He scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Bilbao was edged
72-70 on the road by the higher-ranked Andorra (#11).
Dos Anjos' overall stats this season are: 3.4ppg and 3.6rpg.
#5. Gabriel Novaes (208-C-1, currently plays in Argentina) couldn't help
Bahia (3-17) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance Bahia (#10) was defeated
82-76 in Buenos Aires by the higher-ranked Ferro (#7) in the South group.
Novaes recorded 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.

Novaes' overall stats this season are: 6.7ppg and 4.3rpg.
#6. Tristan Da Silva (203-F-1, currently studies in the States) faced previously mentioned Oscar Da Silva in the NCAA last game.
Da Silva managed to help University of Colorado to win against the Stanford University
77-64.
He recorded 5 points.
This season Da Silva averages only 1.1ppg.
He is another player who holds two passports: German and Brazilian.
#7. Maozinha Pereira (200-PF-0, currently plays in North Macedonia) couldn't help
Crn Dream in their game against Kozuv in the North Macedonian Prva Liga, despite his very good performance last Sunday.
Pereira was the top scorer with 13 points. He also added 9 rebounds in 31 minutes.
But his team was badly defeated by 18 points
76-58.
This year Pereira's total stats are: 10.0ppg and 7.2rpg in nine games.
#8. Guilherme de Souza (185-G-84, currently plays in Finland) couldn't help
Westside ET in their game against FoKoPo in the Finnish 1st Division (second division). Despite his very good performance on Sunday night He was the second best scorer with 13 points. de Souza also added 5 rebounds.
de Souza's total stats this season are: 8.5ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.6apg.
#9. Joao Gallina (192-SF-94, currently plays in Spain) contributed to
Clavijo's victory against the leader Juaristi ISB
80-74 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Tuesday night's game.
He scored only 2 points in 13 minutes.
This year Gallina's total stats are: 4.4ppg and 1.6rpg in seven games.
He has both Brazilian and Portuguese nationalities.
#10. Bernardo Da Silva (206-F-0, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the one of league's weakest teams
Hawaii in their game against the California State University Bakersfield in the NCAA. Da Silva cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones.
