The most exciting game of round 13 in the LDB U20 took place in Caxias do Sul. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Caxias do Sul (5-6) to second ranked Corinthians (9-2) 85-83 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Guard Dalaqua Almentra (182-2000) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Alexandre Ludwig chipped in 25 points. Guard Gabriel Santos (185-2001) produced 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Corinthians have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Very important is a road loss of third ranked Cerrado (7-4) against fifth ranked Bauru (7-4) on Monday night. Visiting Cerrado was defeated by Bauru in Bauru 70-59. Worth to mention a great performance of center Felipe Cardoso (211-2000) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Very important is a road loss of Botafogo (1-10) against tenth ranked Rio Claro (3-8) on Monday night. Visiting Botafogo was defeated by Rio Claro in Sao Paulo 74-60. Arthur Costa stepped up and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Rio Claro's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. There was no surprise in Fortaleza where 11th ranked Uniao Corinthians (2-9) was crushed by fifth ranked Cearense (7-4) 112-72 on Monday. Cearense dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Uniao Corinthians' 32. They outrebounded Uniao Corinthians 55-34 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cearense looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cearense made 13 blocks. Leonardo Cravero (200-2002) stepped up and scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Cristhya Fernandes (188-2001) chipped in 26 points and 6 assists.
