Minas - Paulistano 105-70 The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Paulistano's (19-11) road loss to fourth ranked Minas (21-10) 70-105 on Monday. Minas shot 65.5 percent from the field and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Minas had a 26-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Minas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) fired 34 points (!!!) and 6 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winners. The former international point guard Alexey Borges (185-1995) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. Five Minas players scored in double figures. Gui Abreu (199-1999) produced 20 points and point guard Adyel Borges (188-2002) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Paulistano's coach Demetrius Ferraciu gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Minas maintains fourth place with 21-10 record. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vivo/Franca forced 19 Brasilia turnovers. It was a great evening for international center Lucas Silva (208-1995) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Brasilia's players. Colombian guard Romario Roque (180-1998) fired 21 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Fabricio Verissimo (192-1998) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
