CBB Round 4: Osasco edge Vitoria by one point

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in CBB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 4 in the CBB took place in Salvador. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of bottom-ranked Vitoria (0-6) to third ranked Osasco (3-2) 82-81 on Sunday evening. Osasco made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 Vitoria turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Vitoria helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized Italian point guard Paulinho Boracini (183-1984) fired 22 points for the winners. point guard Bruno Viana (191-1993) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Victor Pedreira (191-1996) produced 28 points and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for lost side. Vitoria's coach Marcelo Berro tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Osasco moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Vitoria at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Osasco is looking forward to face Araraquara (#4) on the road in the next round. Vitoria will play against the league's leader Brusque and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Santos (3-2) against fourth ranked Sorocabana (3-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Santos was defeated by Sorocabana in Sorocabana 60-49. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Aquiles Ferreira (194-1998) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds. Beto Fagundes contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Andrezao Silva (198-1990) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for Santos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sorocabana maintains fourth position with 3-3 record. Santos at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Sorocabana will play against league's leader Cruzeiro in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Santos will play against Pinda and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Blumenau. Top-ranked Brusque faced their biggest opponent Blumenau. Guests from Brusque (5-0) defeated host Blumenau (3-2) 68-55. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Blumenau. Worth to mention a great performance of Samuel Santos who helped to win the game recording 18 points. At the losing side Leonardo Bispo responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Blumenau's coach Andre Germano let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Undefeated Brusque have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Loser Blumenau keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Brusque will meet at home Vitoria (#5) in the next round. Blumenau will play against Vitoria and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 4 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Sorocabana crushed Pinda in a road game 69-44. Winless Vitoria was smashed by Araraquara at home 68-110. Praia was destroyed by Cruzeiro on the opponent's court 78-58.
