There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in NBB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Pinheiros recorded a loss on the court of Brasilia on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Brasilia 94-76. The best player for the winners was American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Paulo Da Costa (193-1994) chipped in 25 points. point guard Adyel Borges (188-2002) produced 26 points and 4 assists for the guests. Brasilia is looking forward to face Pato in Pato Branco in the next round. Pinheiros will have a break next round.
The game in Caxias do Sul was also worth to mention about. U.Corinthians played at the court of Caxias do Sul. U.Corinthians defeated Caxias do Sul 82-66. Serbian guard Radovan Djokovic (196-1996) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 7 assists. Kendall Stephens contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Kenny Dawkins (177-1987, college: Lamar) replied with 11 points and 5 assists for Caxias do Sul. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. U.Corinthians will play against Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Caxias do Sul will play at home against Vasco da Gama to get more than just one victory in their record.
A very close game took place in Mogi das Cruzes between Fortaleza and Mogi. Fortaleza got a very close victory on the road over Mogi. Fortaleza managed to escape with a 2-point win 65-63 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Sebastian Orresta scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Shamell Stallworth responded with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Fortaleza will meet Paulistano in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mogi will have a break next round.

Rest of the games of round 2 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Corinthians defeated Cerrado in Sao Paulo 67-58. Sesi Franca smashed Paulistano at home 89-50. Minas won against Vasco da Gama on the opponent's court 72-60. Bauru outscored Sao Paulo in a home game 87-66. Pato managed to beat Botafogo on the road 79-71. Sao Jose lost to UniFacisa on its own court 62-68. Paulistano lost to Bauru in a road game 71-75. Vasco da Gama won against Pato at home 71-62. Cearense managed to outperform Sao Jose on the opponent's court 82-78. Mogi lost to UniFacisa in a home game 68-82. Botafogo lost to U.Corinthians on the road 78-82.
The best stats of 2nd round was 16 points and 5 rebounds by Arthur Costa of U.Corinthians.




Cerrado - Corinthians 58-67

There was no surprise in Brasilia where Cerrado was defeated by Corinthians 67-58 on Monday. Strangely Cerrado outrebounded Corinthians 47-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. The former international forward Leonardo Demetrio (203-1994) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Caue Borges (187-1991) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Center Andre Barbosa de Abreu (212-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and guard Matheus Silva (189-2001) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Corinthians will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cerrado will play against Pato in Pato Branco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
