The game in Sao Jose supposed to be quite interesting. Leader SESI (5-0) played at the court of 5th ranked Sao Jose (3-3). SESI smashed Sao Jose 70-41 on Thursday. SESI held Sao Jose to an opponent 24.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Sao Jose 47-25 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international Vitoria Domingos (181-1996) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and international forward Emanuely De Oliveira (178-1999, college: Florida) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. SESI's coach Fabio Appolinario felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Mayara Marins (175-1997) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Undefeated SESI have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Sampaio. Sao Jose at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. SESI is looking forward to face Santo Andre (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sao Jose will play against Blumenau (#11) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
The game in Campinas was also worth to mention about. 7th ranked Cerrado (2-5) played at the court of eighth ranked Campinas (2-3). Campinas managed to secure a 5-point victory 77-72. Argentinian Agustina Marin (170-2003) nailed 31 points and 5 assists for the winning side and Izabella Sangalli accounted for 26 points and 9 rebounds. Leticia Lisboa (183-1993) came up with 14 points and 9 rebounds for Cerrado in the defeat. Campinas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mesquita. Cerrado at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
An interesting game took place in Mesquita where 4th placed Corinthians (3-2) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Mesquita (2-3) 69-53 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was Mayra Caicedo who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Mesquita's coach Raphael Zaremba used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Ariadna Felipe produced 6 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Mesquita moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Campinas. Loser Corinthians keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Mesquita will meet at home bottom-ranked Blumenau (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Corinthians will have a break next round.
In the last two games of round 5 Maringa lost to Ourinhos on the opponent's court 67-78. Santo Andre unfortunately lost to Cerrado in a home game 51-62.

Maringa lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with three games lost.
Ourinhos will meet at home league's leader Sampaio in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Maringa will play against the league's leader Sampaio (#1) and hope to win that game.
