An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ourinhos. Top-ranked Sampaio faced 3rd ranked Ourinhos. Guests from Sampaio Basquete (7-0) defeated host Ourinhos (4-2) 78-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ourinhos. Sampaio made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Ourinhos turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Ourinhos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international forward Vanessa Goncalves (180-1994) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Taina Da Paixao (173-1991) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Juliana Ribeiro (189-1994) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Undefeated Sampaio have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Ourinhos at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. Bottom-ranked Blumenau (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 73-58 loss to fifth ranked Sao Jose (4-3) in Sao Jose on Sunday evening. Juliana Souza had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Maite Pereira with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Blumenau's coach Andre Soares rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sao Jose moved-up to fourth place. Loser Blumenau still closes the standings with six games lost. Sao Jose will meet at home higher ranked Ourinhos (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Blumenau will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 6 SESI crushed Santo Andre in Araraquara 78-47. Mesquita beat Blumenau at home 63-53.

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Santo Andre (1-5) was crushed at home by top-ranked SESI (6-0) 78-47 on Sunday. SESI forced 21 Santo Andre turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Power forward Evelyn Mariano (180-1997) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Vitoria Domingos (181-1996) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals during the contest. SESI's coach Fabio Appolinario felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Giovanna Rocha (187-2005) with 19 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and forward Marcella Prande (180-2005) scored 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. SESI have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-0 record behind leader Sampaio. Loser Santo Andre dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. SESI will meet at home Maringa (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Santo Andre will play against Campinas and hope to win that game.
