Sangalli's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

29-year old ITA-BRAn Izabella Sangalli (182-SF-1995) put on an amazing game in the last round for Unimed Campinas Basquete and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
She had a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds, while her team crushed Santo Andre (#9, 1-6) with 24-point margin 80-56. Campinas maintains the 7th position in Brazilian LBF. Campinas is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. Sangalli turned to be Campinas' top player in her first season with the team. Sangalli has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.0ppg and leads league in rebounds with 12.8rpg. Sangalli is in league's top in and averages solid 2.2spg.

Second best performed player last round was Manuela Rios (163-G-1997) of Sao Jose Basketball. She is Colombian guard in her first season at Sao Jose. In the last game Rios recorded an impressive 23 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists. Bad luck as Sao Jose was edged by slightly higher-ranked Ourinhos (#4, 5-2) 74-70. This loss caused Sao Jose to drop to 6th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Rios is one of the most experienced players at Sao Jose and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Gabriela Guimaraes (180-C/F-1996) of league's second-best Sampaio Basquete. Guimaraes showcased her all-around game by recording 19 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Guimaraes' great performance the Sampaio lost 84-87 to #3 ranked Corinthians. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Sampaio had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Guimaraes' teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Guimaraes has a great season in Brazil. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.4ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 9.7rpg (5th best). She also has 2.3spg and a FGP of 70.3%.
