Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader SESI (8-1). They were defeated by second ranked Sampaio (8-1) 75-69 on Thursday night. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of SESI. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Gabriela Guimaraes (180-1996) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and the former international point guard Lays Silva (166-1998, agency: Interperformances) who added 24 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The former international Vitoria Domingos (181-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Sampaio keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated SESI. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Bottom-ranked Blumenau (0-7) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to ninth ranked Santo Andre (2-6) 74-72 on Friday evening. The best player for the winners was Ineidis Casanova who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. Sil Gustavo produced 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Santo Andre moved-up to eighth place. Blumenau at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Santo Andre will meet higher ranked Mesquita (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Blumenau will play against Cerrado (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
