The most exciting game of round 11 in the LBF took place in Mesquita. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Cerrado (3-8) to seventh ranked Mesquita (6-5) 73-72 on Sunday evening. Strangely Cerrado outrebounded Mesquita 45-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Amanda De Oliveira (178-1993) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points. Colombian guard Mayra Caicedo (161-2000, college: Tarleton St.) helped adding 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized American swingman Mia Hopkins (180-1994, college: Toronto) responded with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Cerrado's coach Alan Monteiro rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mesquita moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sao Jose and Campinas. Cerrado at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Santo Andre. Mesquita is looking forward to face Santo Andre (#9) on the road in the next round. Cerrado will play against Maringa and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Blumenau has finally registered their first victory this season after ten consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Maringa, where they defeated Maringa (1-10) 67-60. It was an exceptional evening for forward Sil Gustavo (181-1982) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds. Melissa Oliveira accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Janaina Nonato (170-2000) came up with 19 points for Maringa in the defeat. Maringa's coach Rafael Oliveira tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Blumenau left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with defeated Maringa. It was Maringa's tenth loss in a row. Blumenau will play against higher ranked Sao Jose (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maringa will play against the league's leader Sampaio (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
The game in Ourinhos was also quite interesting. 4th placed Campinas (6-5) played at the court of fifth ranked Ourinhos (7-4). Ourinhos managed to secure a 6-point victory 57-51 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Campinas. The best player for the winners was Kawanni Firmino who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Izabella Sangalli produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Ourinhos moved-up to fourth place. Loser Campinas dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Sao Jose and Mesquita. Ourinhos will meet league's second-placed SESI in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Campinas will play against Corinthians and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
In the last game of round 11 Santo Andre won against Sao Jose on the opponent's court 80-63.

Santo Andre moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Cerrado. Loser Sao Jose keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Mesquita and Campinas.
Santo Andre will meet at home higher ranked Mesquita (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sao Jose will play against Blumenau and hope to secure a win.
