Brazilian LBF round 11 best performance: Giovanna Rocha (by Hoops Agents)

Center Giovanna Rocha (187-C-2005) had an amazing evening in the last round for AD Santo Andre, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 19-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds, while her team crushed Sao Jose (#5, 6-5) with 17-point margin 80-63. Santo Andre maintains the 9th position in Brazilian LBF. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 8 games and recorded just three victories. It's Rocha's second year at Santo Andre and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Giovanna Rocha has solid league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 8.4rpg) and averages impressive 65.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Italian Izabella Sangalli (182-SF-1995) of Unimed Campinas Basquete. Sangalli had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Campinas lost that game 51-57 to slightly higher-ranked Ourinhos (#4, 7-4). This loss caused Campinas to drop to 6th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 6-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Sangalli is a newcomer at Campinas, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.2ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 13.0rpg and 3.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Sil Gustavo (181-F-1982) of Unisociesc/Blumenau (#10). Gustavo scored 10 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Blumenau, leading her team to a 67-60 win against Maringa (1-10). Blumenau can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-10 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Gustavo has individually a great season in Brazil. After 11 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.8rpg (7th best).
