Tassia Carcavalli claims Brazilian LBF Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced International Guard Tassia Carcavalli (179-G-1992) had an amazing evening in the last round for Corinthians and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 32-year old guard had the game-high 24 points adding five rebounds and two assists for Corinthians in her team's victory, helping them to crush Maringa (#11, 1-16) with 21-point margin 94-73. Corinthians maintains the 3rd position in Brazilian LBF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Corinthians will need more victories to improve their 11-3 record. Carcavalli just recently signed at Corinthians, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Tassia Carcavalli averages this season 12.0ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international forward Thayna Silva (180-F-1996) of league's best team Sampaio Basquete. Silva impressed basketball fans with 20 points and 8 rebounds. It was enough for Sampaio to edge the lower-ranked Campinas (#6, 8-8) by 4 points 60-56. Of course Sampaio still keep the league's top spot. Her team lost just two games this season, while they won 13 matches. Silva is one of the most experienced players at Sampaio and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Dayna Rouse (185-F-1998) of Cerrado Basquete Brasilia (#8). Rouse scored 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. She was a key player of Cerrado, leading her team to a 93-68 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Santo Andre (#9, 4-11). The chances of Cerrado ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Rouse could help Cerrado to bring them higher in the standings. The season just started for Rouse as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.

8. Brenda Bleidao (177-SF-2003) of Santo Andre - 13 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Izabella Sangalli (182-SF-1995) of Campinas - 13 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Joice Rodrigues (174-PG-1986) of Cerrado - 4 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists
