Brazilian LBF round 18 best performance: Izabella Sangalli

Naturalized Italian Izabella Sangalli (182-SF-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Unimed Campinas Basquete, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 18 rebounds, while her team crushed Maringa (#11, 1-19) with 22-point margin 72-50. Campinas maintains the 6th position in Brazilian LBF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Campinas will need more victories to improve their 10-8 record. Sangalli turned to be Campinas' top player in her first season with the team. Izabella Sangalli has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.3ppg) and averages impressive 2.4spg.

The second best player in last round's games was young international forward Raphaella Monteiro (181-F-1995) of Corinthians. Monteiro had a very good evening with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Corinthians was edged by slightly higher-ranked Sampaio (#1, 15-2) 90-88. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Corinthians still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team's 12-4 record is not bad at all. Monteiro is one of the most experienced players at Corinthians and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Maiara Dias of Unisociesc/Blumenau (#10). Dias scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Dias' great performance the Blumenau lost 66-68 to slightly higher-ranked Santo Andre (#9, 6-12). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Blumenau can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-15 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Dias has a very solid season. In 5 games in Brazil she scored 9.4ppg.
