Gabriela Guimaraes claims Brazilian Paulista Hoops Agents weekly honour

International Gabriela Guimaraes (180-C/F-1996) had a very impressive game in the last round for Ourinhos Basquete and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Paulista Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 29-year old had a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Pro-Esport S. (#8, 0-4) with 25-point margin 79-54. Ourinhos was forced-out from the top positions in Brazilian Paulista. They are still close to the very top. Ourinhos would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Guimaraes had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range. She turned to be Ourinhos' top player in her first season with the team. Guimaraes has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 21.0ppg. Guimaraes is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.0rpg) and averages solid 65.2% FGP and 44.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young swingman Ariadna Felipe (180-G/F-1983) of Taubate/SELQV/IGC. Felipe impressed basketball fans with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course she led Taubate to another comfortable win outscoring Catanduva (#9, 0-6) 78-48. Despite this victory Taubate slide down in the standings to 7th position. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Taubate managed to get this year. Felipe is a newcomer at Taubate and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Italian Izabella Sangalli (182-SF-1995) of top-ranked Unimed Campinas Basquete. Sangalli showcased her all-around game by recording 13 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 9 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Campinas, leading her team to a 68-59 win against the lower-ranked Sao Jose (#6, 3-3). Campinas started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Sangalli turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Sangalli has a great season in Brazil. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.2ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 9.2rpg (4th best) and assists with 5.6apg (4th best). Izabella Sangalli has also Brazilian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
