The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked SESI as it allowed them to take a leadership position. SESI defeated second-ranked Campinas in Araraquara 74-56. It was a key game for the top position in the league. SESI looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Aline Moura (185-1997) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). International Vitoria Marcelino (181-1996) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international point guard Joice Rodrigues (174-1986) produced 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SESI have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Campinas at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Santo Andre and Ourinhos.

Visiting Ourinhos was defeated by Santo Andre in a tough game in Santo Andre 70-79. The former international point guard Lays Silva (166-1998, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Brenda Bleidao contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Gabriela Guimaraes (180-1996) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for Ourinhos. Santo Andre have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ourinhos and Campinas.

The best stats of 8th round was 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals by Ineidis Casanova of Santo Andre.
