Aline Moura claims Brazilian Paulista weekly honour

International Power forward Aline Moura (185-F/C-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best SESI Araraquara Basquete and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Paulista Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 28-year old power forward had the game-high 20 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for SESI in her team's victory, helping them to crush Campinas (#3, 5-2) with 18-point margin 74-56. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. SESI is placed at 2nd position in Brazilian Paulista. They are still close to the very top. SESI would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 6-1 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Moura as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Aline Moura averages this season 10.3ppg and 6.8rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international Gabriela Guimaraes (180-C/F-1996) of Ourinhos Basquete. Guimaraes impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Ourinhos lost that game 70-79 to slightly higher-ranked Santo Andre (5-2). This loss caused Ourinhos to drop to 5th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 5-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Guimaraes is a newcomer at Ourinhos and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#1). She also registered 8.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another SESI's star - international forward Vitoria Marcelino (181-PF-1996). Marcelino showcased her all-around game by recording 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. She was another key player of SESI Araraquara Basquete, helping her team with a 74-56 easy win against #3 ranked Campinas in a game of the week. SESI is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 6-1 record is not that bad... Marcelino has a great season in Brazil. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 12.6ppg (7th best).
