Thayna Silva claims Brazilian Paulista Hoops Agents weekly honour

International Forward Thayna Silva (180-F-1996) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Corinthians and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Paulista Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds, while her team crushed Santo Andre (#6, 5-5) with 20-point margin 92-72. It allowed Corinthians to jump to the first place in the Brazilian Paulista. Corinthians have a solid 8-2 record. In the team's last game Silva had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. She turned to be Corinthians' top player in her first season with the team. Silva has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 17.2ppg), assists (5th best: 2.4apg) and averages solid 52.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international power forward Leticia Rodrigues (187-F/C-1995) of AD Santo Andre. Rodrigues impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Santo Andre lost that game 72-92 to the higher-ranked Corinthians (#1, 8-2). This loss caused Santo Andre to drop to 6th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 5-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. In 10 games in Brazil she scored 10.9ppg.
