Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The biggest surprise took place in Rio Claro where host Rio Claro (8-17) beat league's leader Flamengo (21-5) 93-87 on Monday evening. Rio Claro made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Flamengo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Stan Scott (193-1998, college: MSSU) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Argentinian point guard Fermin Thygesen (186-1998) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Guilherme Deodato (192-1991) who recorded 20 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rio Claro have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourteenth place with 8-17 record. Flamengo at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They share it with Pinheiros. They were replaced at the leadership position by Sesi/Franca. Flamengo will play next round against league's leader Sesi/Franca trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Rio Claro will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Minas in Belo Horizonte.
Important game to mention about took place in Belo Horizonte. Fourth ranked Minas (20-6) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Brasilia (19-8) 92-91 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brasilia. It was a good game for the former international forward Winicius Braga (204-2005) who saved his team from a defeat with 20 points and 4 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Erik McCree contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian-Italian point guard Facundo Corvalan (190-1998) answered with 23 points and 6 assists for Brasilia. Minas maintains fourth place with 20-6 record. Brasilia at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Corinthians. Minas will play against Rio Claro (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brasilia will play against Cruzeiro (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Georginho de Paula stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The best for the losing side was Matheusinho Brito with 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vivo/Franca have a solid series of three victories in a row. Sesi/Franca maintains first place with 22-5 record. Loser Botafogo dropped to the eighteenth position with 21 games lost. Sesi/Franca will meet Flamengo (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Botafogo will play against Bauru (#9) and hope to secure a win.

There was no surprise in Rio de Janeiro where 20th ranked Vasco (4-23) was crushed by tenth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (15-12) 90-70 on Monday. Bauru forced 21 Vasco turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-1994, college: Mount Olive) stepped up and scored 23 points and 4 steals for the winners and the former international guard Alex Garcia (191-1980, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 9 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Luiz Basilio (192-1991) with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Pedro Nunes (199-2000) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Paschoalotto/Bauru have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place. Vasco lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Bauru will meet Botafogo (#18) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vasco will have a break next round.

American point guard Michael Dupree (185-1995, college: Northwest) stepped up and scored 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Bernardo Da Silva (206-2000, college: Hawaii) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Edu Elevi (207-2001) with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Joao Fidelis (205-2001) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Pato's coach Andre Soares tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cearense maintains seventeenth place with 6-21 record. Loser Pato keeps the sixteenth position with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Corinthians players scored in double figures. Corinthians' coach Jece Leite used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Charles Hinkle (198-1988, college: American) with 21 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Anderson Barbosa (192-2000) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds.
