Bottom-ranked Vasco managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time they edged twentieth-ranked Osasco in Rio de Janeiro 88-86. The best player for the winners was American swingman Lamar Morgan (198-1997, college: Coppin St., agency: Helping Ballers) who scored 26 points and 5 steals. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vasco (5-27) moved-up to nineteenth place, which they share with defeated Osasco. Osasco lost eighteenth consecutive game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

It was a good game for American point guard David Sloan (183-1999, college: ETSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Eduardo Santos contributed with 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. point guard Matheusinho Brito (183-2000) answered with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for Botafogo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pinheiros (26-5) have an impressive series of twenty six victories in a row. They maintain first place. Botafogo at the other side keeps the seventeenth position with 24 games lost. Pinheiros will play against Flamengo (#3) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Botafogo will have a break next round.

The best for the losing side was Gabriel Fernandes with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Osasco moved-up to nineteenth place, which they share with Vasco. Cearense lost their twenty sixth game in a row. They keep the eighteenth position with 26 games lost. Osasco will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cearense will play against Paulistano (#8) in Sao Paulo and hope to secure a win.

Brasilia was defeated by UniFacisa in Paraiba 64-59. Cruzeiro was beaten by Caxias do Sul at home 76-85. U.Corinthians lost to Minas on the opponent's court 82-92.

There was an upset in Paraiba where higher ranked Brasilia (22-9) was defeated by twelfth ranked UNIFACISA (16-14) 64-59 on Saturday. Strangely Brasilia outrebounded UniFacisa 43-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Venezuelan guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points and 6 rebounds. Victor Leal (202-1996) helped adding 9 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Brunao Cardoso (197-2002) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and Rafael Paulichi (202-1998) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. UniFacisa moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with U.Corinthians. Loser Brasilia dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. UniFacisa will meet league's second-placed Sesi/Franca in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brasilia will have a break next round.
