Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Cerrado (3-1) on the court of leader Campinas on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Campinas 86-80. Strangely Cerrado outrebounded Campinas 42-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international guard Tassia Carcavalli (179-1992) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international point guard Joice Rodrigues (174-1986) contributed with 13 points and 7 assists for the winners. Salvadorean Hillary Martinez (172-1997) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for Cerrado. Undefeated Campinas (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Cerrado at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with Santo Andre. Campinas are looking forward to face league's second-placed Sampaio in Sampaio Basquete in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cerrado will play at home against Santo Andre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Mesquita. Fifth ranked Santo Andre (3-1) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Mesquita (2-4) 80-78 on Thursday evening. Forward Marcella Prande (180-2005) stepped up and scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Giovanna Rocha chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Jayla Crawford (170-2000, college: Alabama St., agency: Interperformances) responded with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Mesquita's coach Raphael Zaremba tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Santo Andre moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cerrado. Mesquita at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Santo Andre will play against Recife (#7) in Gloria do Goita in the next round. Mesquita will play on the road against SESI in Araraquara and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Juliana Souza came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for Sao Jose in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Campinas. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Sao Jose lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Recife and Salvador. Campinas will meet league's second-placed Sampaio in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sao Jose will play against Recife (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 5: Sampaio smashed Sao Jose on the road 90-50. Winless Maringa was destroyed by Cerrado on its own court 58-84. SESI outscored Recife in Araraquara 70-50. Salvador was rolled over SESI at home 32-90.
The most impressive performance of 5th round was 8 points and 10 rebounds by Clara Pestillo of SESI.

No shocking result in a game when leader Sampaio (4-0) crushed on the road 8th ranked Sao Jose (1-4) 90-50 on Sunday. Sampaio looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Sao Jose's players. The former international power forward Gabriela Guimaraes (180-1996) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and the former international Izabella Sangalli (182-1995) accounted for 16 points and 12 rebounds. Four Sampaio players scored in double figures. Forward Thailane Monteiro (185-2000) came up with 11 points and 6 rebounds and center Juliana Souza (185-1999) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Sao Jose in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sampaio. They maintain second place with 4-0 record behind leader Campinas. Sao Jose lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Very expected game when bottom-ranked Maringa (0-5) was smashed at home by third ranked Cerrado (3-1) 84-58 on Monday. Cerrado made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Maringa turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international power forward Licinara Rodrigues (184-1999) nailed 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Beatriz Oliveira (169-1995) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. Cerrado's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jennifer Sirtoli (184-1992) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jamily Reis (175-2003) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Maringa in the defeat. Despite that victory Cerrado went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Santo Andre. Maringa lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Cerrado will meet at home Santo Andre (#5) in the next round. Maringa will play against the league's second-placed Sampaio (#2) in Sampaio Basquete and hopes to get finally their first victory.

The former international power forward Aline Moura (185-1997) nailed 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and the former international swingman Carina Martins (171-1992) accounted for 5 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Gabriellem De Paula (190-2002) came up with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Mayara Leoncio added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Recife in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for SESI. They moved-up to third place.
