Very expected game when bottom-rankedMaringa (0-5) was smashed at home by third ranked Cerrado (3-1) 84-58 on Monday. Cerrado made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Maringa turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international power forward Licinara Rodrigues (184-1999) nailed 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Beatriz Oliveira (169-1995) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. Cerrado's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jennifer Sirtoli (184-1992) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jamily Reis (175-2003) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Maringa in the defeat. Despite that victory Cerrado went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Santo Andre. Maringa lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost.
