Brenda Bleidao claims Brazilian LBF Hoops Agents weekly honour

Brenda Bleidao (177-SF-2003) put on an amazing game in the last round for AD Santo Andre and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 22-year old had a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, while her team outclassed Salvador (#9, 1-6) with 33-point margin 95-62. Thanks to this victory Santo Andre moved-up to the 5th position in Brazilian LBF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Santo Andre will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Bleidao had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. She turned to be Santo Andre's top player in her first season with the team. Bleidao has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.6rpg) and averages solid 61.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Salvadorean Hillary Martinez (172-SF-1997) of Cerrado Basquete Brasilia. Martinez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 11 points and 10 assists. Of course she led Cerrado to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Mesquita (#7, 2-6) 80-51. Cerrado's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 6 matches. Martinez is one of the most experienced players at Cerrado and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.4ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 9.0rpg and 5.7apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Santo Andre's star - Marcella Prande (180-F-2005). Prande showcased her all-around game by recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. She was another key player of AD Santo Andre, helping her team with a 95-62 easy win against the lower-ranked Salvador (#9, 1-6). Santo Andre needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Prande has a great season in Brazil. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.6ppg (6th best) and assists with 5.3apg (4th best).
