Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game of round 10 in the LBF took place in Sao Jose. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of their close opponent Santo Andre (5-6) to fifth ranked Sao Jose (5-6) 68-65 in the game for the fifth place. Sao Jose made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Center Juliana Souza (185-1999) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Uruguayan guard Maite Pereira (176-2004) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Forward Marcella Prande (180-2005) produced 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of her seven free throws) for lost side. Sao Jose maintains fifth position with 5-6 record, which they share with defeated Santo Andre. Santo Andre lost fourth consecutive game. Sao Jose will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santo Andre will play at home against Mesquita (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Sao Jose. Seventh ranked Mesquita (4-8) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Sao Jose (5-6) 68-65 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sao Jose. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jayla Crawford (170-2000, college: Alabama St., agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 7 rebounds. Connie Clarke contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Juliana Souza (185-1999) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds for Sao Jose. Sao Jose's coach Leandro Leal rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mesquita maintains seventh position with 4-8 record. Sao Jose at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Santo Andre. Mesquita will play against higher ranked Santo Andre (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sao Jose will have a break next round.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Campinas. Third ranked SESI faced their biggest opponent Campinas. Guests from Araraquara (9-2) defeated host Campinas (10-2) 61-56. Aline Moura had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Leticia Rodrigues responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Campinas' coach Babi Honorio tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. SESI have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Sampaio. Loser Campinas keeps the second place with two games lost. SESI will meet at home bottom-ranked Salvador (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Campinas will have a break next round.

Rest of the games of round 10 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Mesquita was crushed by Cerrado in Brasilia 122-64. Bottom-ranked Salvador lost to undefeated Sampaio at home 43-115. Campinas won against Maringa on the opponent's court 74-58.
The best stats of 10th round was 13 points by Anna Moreira of Maringa.

Cerrado - Mesquita 122-64

There was no surprise in Brasilia where 7th ranked Mesquita (4-8) was crushed by fourth ranked Cerrado (7-3) 122-64 on Friday. Cerrado dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Mesquita's 28 and made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Cerrado forced 19 Mesquita turnovers and outrebounded them 41-26 including a 33-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cerrado looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Mesquita's players. International forward Vanessa Goncalves (180-1994) had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Beatriz Oliveira (169-1995) chipped in 23 points and 14 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Cerrado players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Connie Clarke (178-2001, college: MWSU, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import guard Jayla Crawford (170-2000, college: Alabama St., agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cerrado maintains fourth position with 7-3 record. Loser Mesquita keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Cerrado will meet league's leader Sampaio in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Mesquita will play against Santo Andre (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Sampaio (11-0) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Salvador (1-10) 115-43 on Saturday. Sampaio held Salvador to an opponent 23.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 56.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Sampaio forced 24 Salvador turnovers and outrebounded them 53-23 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sampaio looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Salvador's players. The former international power forward Gabriela Guimaraes (180-1996) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Colombian forward Jenifer Munoz (170-1991) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Sampaio players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Tayna Reis (170-1996) responded with 7 points (made all of her seven free throws) and Jessica Dos Santos scored 10 points. Salvador's coach Eduardo Oliveira gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sampaio have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-0 record. Salvador lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Sampaio will meet at home Cerrado (#4) in the next round. Salvador will play against SESI (#3) in Araraquara and hope to win that game.
