Vanessa Goncalves claims Brazilian LBF weekly honour

Experienced International Forward Vanessa Goncalves (180-F-1994) had a very impressive game in the last round for Cerrado Basquete Brasilia and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 31-year old forward had a double-double of 38 points and 14 rebounds, while her team outclassed Mesquita (#7, 4-8) with 58-point margin 122-64. Cerrado maintains the 4th position in Brazilian LBF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Cerrado will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. In the team's last game Goncalves had a remarkable 84.6% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Cerrado, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Goncalves has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (5th best: 14.8ppg), rebounds (5th best: 8.9rpg) and averages solid 56.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international power forward Aline Moura (185-F/C-1997) of SESI Araraquara Basquete. Moura impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds. It was enough for SESI to edge slightly higher-ranked Campinas (#2, 10-2) by 5 points 61-56. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. SESI consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. Her team lost just two games this season, while they won 9 matches. Moura is a newcomer at SESI and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.0ppg (#7). Her other stats are also decent: 8.6rpg and 3.2apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Cerrado's star - international guard Beatriz Oliveira (169-G-1995). Oliveira scored 23 points and passed 14 assists (!!!). She was another key player of Cerrado Basquete Brasilia, helping her team with a 122-64 easy win against the lower-ranked Mesquita (#7, 4-8). Cerrado needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 3 lost games. Oliveira has a great season in Brazil. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.9apg (8th best).

10. Connie Clarke (178-G/F-2001) of Mesquita - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
