Minas - Corinthians 81-92

Corinthians dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Minas' 26. Corinthians players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) who scored that evening 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Elio Corazza (195-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) supported him with 15 points, 12 assists and 4 steals. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Corinthians' coach Jece Leite allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 24 points by American forward Erik McCree (202-1993, college: La Tech) did not help to save the game for Minas. Power forward Rafael Rachel (205-2000) added 17 points and 7 rebounds for lost side.

Sesi/Franca - Mogi 90-102

Mogi outrebounded Vivo/Franca 37-20 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mogi shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Felipe Ruivo (188-1998) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Gabriel Campos (181-2001) who added 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side international center Lucas Dias (207-1995) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Argentinian point guard Juan Laterza (180-1997) scored 18 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.

Brasilia - Flamengo 88-96

Flamengo players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by the former international Wesley Ferreira (201-1995) who scored that evening 12 points and 9 rebounds and American Markeith Cummings (198-1988, college: KSU) supported him with 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by international guard Kevin Crescenzi (192-1993, college: Dartmouth) did not help to save the game for Brasilia. Rafael Paulichi (202-1998) added 17 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Five Flamengo and four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
