Kai Mitchell-Watkins claims Chilean LNB weekly honour

American Kai Mitchell-Watkins (201-F/C-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for CEB Puerto Montt and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2 (Second Stage).
The 29-year old power forward had a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Ancud (#4, 7-5) 94-83. Puerto Montt maintains the 6th position in Chilean LNB. Puerto Montt is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 7th lost game this season out of 13 games. Mitchell-Watkins turned to be Puerto Montt's top player in his first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was American guard Marcell McCreary (193-G) of Club Deportes Castro. McCreary impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Castro cruised to a 92-82 relatively comfortable win over Colo Colo (3-10). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. McCreary is a newcomer at Castro and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international Sebastian Suarez (193-SF-1991) of Club Deportes Las Animas (#10). Suarez scored 28 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was a key player of Las Animas, leading his team to a 80-75 win against Colo Colo (#12, 3-10). The chances of Las Animas not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Suarez could try to bring Las Animas' a little bit higher in the standings. Suarez has a very solid season. In 11 games in Chile he scored 17.6ppg.
