Univ.Concepcion dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Puerto Montt's 38. Univ.Concepcion forced 23 Puerto Montt turnovers and outrebounded them 42-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Univ.Concepcion shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Puerto Montt's players. The former international Yenicel Torres (171-1999) notched 19 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals to lead the effort and the former international forward Barbara Cousino (178-1996) supported her with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Univ.Concepcion's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists by center Catalina Azocar (-1997) did not help to save the game for Puerto Montt. Center Analia Mendez (180-2004) added 13 points for the hosts.

American guard Brandi Beasley (168-1997, college: Illinois) responded with 21 points and forward Vania Vega (173-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Gimnastico players scored in double figures.
