Chilean LNF round 5 best performance: Taylor Jones

U.S. Virgin Islands Guard Taylor Jones (173-G-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Colegio Los Leones Quilpe, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed Sergio Ceppi (#4, 2-2) with 30-point margin 71-41. Leones is placed at 2nd position in Chilean LNF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Leones will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Leones, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Oakland University star has very solid stats this year. Jones is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.0ppg. Jones is in league's top in assists (7th best: 4.5apg) and averages impressive 3.0spg and 61.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international forward Valentina Ojeda (183-F-2003) of C.D. Espanol. Ojeda had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Espanol lost that game 74-79 to slightly higher-ranked Univ.Concepcion (#2, 3-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Zona South. Espanol still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Ojeda is one of the most experienced players at Espanol and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#3). She also registered 8.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Mexican forward Myriam Lara (188-F/C-1994) of league's second-best CD Universitario Concepcion. Lara scored 16 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Univ.Concepcion, leading her team to a 79-74 win against #3 ranked Espanol. Univ.Concepcion needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in Zona South. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Lara has a great season in Chile. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 13.0rpg (3rd best).
