Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Top ranked Sportiva Ita. (4-2) recorded its second loss in Santiago on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by top-ranked CDSC (3-0) 56-49. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sportiva Ita.. CDSC forced 24 Sportiva Ita. turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Fernanda Ovalle (178-2003, college: Xavier) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. The former international center Catalina Abuyeres (182-1997) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Catalina Perez (195-1997) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds. Sportiva Ita.'s coach Gianluca Pozo rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. CDSC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Defending champion Sportiva Ita. still keeps top position with two games lost. CDSC will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sportiva Ita. will play on the road against Sergio Ceppi in Santiago and is hoping to win this game.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Santiago: Sergio Ceppi (#4) and Puente Alto (#5). Puente Alto was defeated at home 49-58 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It was a good game for center Katalina Garcia (182-1994) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 22 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Pia Henriquez contributed with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Romina Valenzuela (178-1986) replied with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for Puente Alto. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sergio Ceppi (3-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Frontera. Puente Alto at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Sergio Ceppi will play against league's leader Sportiva Ita. in Valparaiso in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Puente Alto will play on the road against Leones (#3) in San Pablo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Stephanie Madden had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Barbara Torres with 21 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Univ.Concepcion have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-2 record having just one victory less than leader Alemana P. Loser UCSC keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Univ.Concepcion will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UCSC will play against Gimnastico (#6) in Vina del Mar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Sportiva Ita. - Gimnastico 66-56

There was no surprise in Valparaiso where bottom-ranked Gimnastico (0-6) was defeated by first ranked Sportiva Ita. (4-2) 66-56 on Saturday. Sportiva Ita. forced 25 Gimnastico turnovers and had a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Josefina Cortes (174-1998) scored 9 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Florencia Barahona (164-2004) chipped in 15 points during the contest. Sportiva Ita.'s coach Gianluca Pozo used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Nicolle Oliveros (-2000) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and guard Tatiana Moyano (-1982) scored 8 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Sportiva Ita. have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-2 record. Loser Gimnastico still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Puerto Montt. Sportiva Ita. will meet Sergio Ceppi (#4) in the next round. Gimnastico will play against UCSC and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Univ.Concepcion dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Puerto Montt's 38. Univ.Concepcion forced 25 Puerto Montt turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Puerto Montt (0-6) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Frontera (3-2) 72-40 on Tuesday. Frontera forced 27 Puerto Montt turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Constanza Cardenas (-1998) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Damaris Alarcon (167-2003) chipped in 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was Argentinian center Julieta Ibarra (180-1998) with 2 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and center Catalina Azocar (-1997) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Puerto Montt's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Frontera moved-up to third place, which they share with Sergio Ceppi.
