Chilean LNF round 8 best performance: Stephanie Madden (by Hoops Agents)

American Stephanie Madden (186-C/F-1988) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked CD Universitario Concepcion, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 35-year old player was the main contributor (34 points, five rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out Frontera (#4, 3-4) 57-55. Univ.Concepcion maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Chilean LNF. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Univ.Concepcion will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. Madden just recently signed at Univ.Concepcion, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Langston University, OK star has very solid stats this year. Madden is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.4ppg) and rebounds (6th best: 11.6rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was young international forward Valentina Ojeda (183-F-2003) of C.D. Espanol. Ojeda had a very good evening with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Of course she led Espanol to another comfortable win outscoring Puerto Montt (#6, 0-9) 82-50. Espanol's 3rd position in Zona South has not changed. Her team's 5-3 record is not bad at all. Ojeda is one of the most experienced players at Espanol and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#4). She also registered 9.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was U.S. Virgin Islands guard Taylor Jones (173-G-1997) of Colegio Los Leones Quilpe (#3). Jones scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Leones, leading her team to a 90-46 easy win against Gimnastico (#6, 0-9). Leones needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Zona Centro. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 2 lost games. Jones has a great season in Chile. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.1ppg (best scorer). She also has 2.7spg and a FGP of 56.9%.

10. Angelina Segura (1989) of Espanol - 13 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
