Myriam Lara claims Chilean LNF Hoops Agents weekly honour

Mexican Myriam Lara (188-F/C-1994) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best CD Universitario Concepcion and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 29-year old power forward had the game-high 22 points adding six rebounds for Univ.Concepcion in her team's victory, helping them to outclass Espanol (#3, 6-4) with 51-point margin 93-42. Univ.Concepcion maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Chilean LNF. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Univ.Concepcion will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. Lara just recently signed at Univ.Concepcion, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Lara has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 15.3ppg), rebounds (4th best: 11.3rpg) and averages solid 2.4bpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Argentinian swingman Agustina Garcia (173-F/G-1996, agency: BIG) of Municipal Puente Alto. Garcia impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course she led Puente Alto to another comfortable win outscoring Gimnastico (#6, 0-10) 69-43. Puente Alto's 5th position in Zona Centro has not changed. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-7 record. Garcia is one of the most experienced players at Puente Alto and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Univ.Concepcion's star - American Stephanie Madden (186-C/F-1988). Madden showcased her all-around game by recording 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. She was another key player of CD Universitario Concepcion, helping her team with a 93-42 easy win against #3 ranked Espanol in a game of the week. Univ.Concepcion needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in Zona South. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 2 lost games. Madden has a great season in Chile. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.7ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 11.0rpg (6th best).
